Friends of the South is a charitable Association established under Sri Lankan law in June 2004. Our goal is to improve the livelihood of the people of southern Sri Lanka, particularly the Galle area. Since the tsunami we have been working on a variety of projects to help rebuild shattered lives.
Our Annual Report for 2005 has now been posted on this site.
Total spending on projects is approaching Rs30million (approx $300,000).
Over 99% of all funds received (net of small local tax) have been spent directly on projects and end recipients.
